Havana Cultura presents ‘Gladys Palmera’s collection of Afro-Cuban records’. The Gladys Palmera collection is the largest dedicated Latin and Caribbean music archive in the world.
Alejandra Fierro, aka Gladys Palmera, owns one of the world’s most important collection of Cuban and Latin music records. The archive boasts over 50,000 recordings on LP, 78rpm, 7’ and CD, along with a large collection of music and films. In this wonderful short documentary Spanish musician and anthropologist Raúl Rodríguez and Cuban ‘repentista’ Alexis Díaz Pimienta guide us through one of the great temples of Afro-Cuban music.
