Monstruos del Mañana are a psychadelic tropical rock band from Mexico City. In 2018 they released their debut album ‘Tenquen’. This material has taken them on tour to ten different states in Mexico, as well as the United States.
Amidst the current health crisis, they decided to compose music at a distance ‘Ocelote’ is an instrumental cumbia which develops slowly into an unpredictable situation we’re facing.
‘In this new song, which is a cumbia, we tried to channel a meditative/ ritual state in which to be during the isolation. Being able to be OK alone and with others, and not go mad, and try to be at peace with the world and humanity. Since there is no word we could come up with, that could sum that feeling up, we decided to call it Ocelote. The ocelot is a beautiful wild cat.
SO, basically what’s important about this project is that it’s a composition we recorded at a distance. Each member recorded their parts with their own means. At home, in our bedrooms.‘
We enjoyed this process so much that we decided to upload our audio into a link so that our fans could make their own version of “Ocelote”. So far we’ve received 6 remixes and we’re thrilled! Each one is so different!‘
Since the dynamic worked out so well, we have decided to invite whoever is interested to participate and create music with us. You are all invited to create a remix or something new with the audio we recorded at home’
