Italian musician, producer and DJ, Lorenzo Morresi, returns to his SuperEclectic imprint with a brand new album “Music For Closed Airports” that swiftly follows up on his recent successful outings on 22a and Fly By Night Music.
Across the 10 tracks on the album Lorenzo combines live compositions with electronic production, taking you on an expansive journey through jazz-funk, house, electronica and Italian library music.
The album is deliberately eclectic, with an evolution that starts from full band live recorded sessions that then veer towards more studio based ‘dance’ and ‘electronica’ scenarios. Jazz funk & Italian library music’ atmospheres run throughout the record, as well as a constant effort at combing Western Analog sounds with African percussion. Lorenzo Morresi plays guitar, bass, sax, oud, Roland Juno-60, Roland 808, Yamaha TX7, Cyclone TT -303, as well as vocals, sampling and production.
‘Music For Closed Airports’ was created during the first lockdown in 2020, a time when airports were closed for the very first time since they existed. As a contrast to the deprivation of a fundamental freedom, such as that of no longer be able to move around the planet, the cover portrays a photo of a probe that landed on Mars in 1997.
