On The Corner is a new three-day festival from 27th-29th April that’s attempting to shift the scope of music bookings in Liverpool. Located in the Baltic Triangle, they’ve handed out a number of city debuts, with a programme befitting the jazz roots of its name.
Launching on Friday night, Vels Trio play Madlib’s Shades of Blue. The main festival follows the next day at Constellations with Fatima & The Eglo Live Band joined by Werkha, Laura Misch, Yazmin Lacey, Mafalda, Pete On The Corner, Aaron L and Harri Pepper. Afterparties are located around the city at new, grassroots events spaces The Reeds, Brick Street and Meraki, hosting local DJs til the small hours. Sunday will be dominated by workshops, popups and a record fair, while Melodic Distraction Radio will be broadcasting from the festival all weekend.
